Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, participate in security and compliance activities, process RMAs, and collect & report logging and metrics.
- Support the growth of our existing large physical and virtual infrastructure in a hybrid model with private clouds in a secure, stable, and maintainable manner.
- Ensure Security and Compliance of UNIX/Linux systems.
- Ensures integrity by implementing appropriate routine software and hardware solutions.
- Maintains all supporting documentation for comprehensive operating system, hardware and software configuration. Monitors primary responses for information technology related security incidents and violations. Keeps current with new security and network monitoring technologies, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Hands on experience with installing new/rebuild existing systems (Physical and virtual) in accordance with standard and operational requirements.
- Work with vendors to resolve any issues encountered during the development
- Hands on experience on upgrades of Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 6.x/ 7.x/ 8.x/ 9.x. Familiar with RedHat Satellite for patching.
- Administration and configuration of NFS and Samba servers.
- Focused responsibility on maintenance and support of Linux-based servers
- Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs OS Security patches and resolves software related problems. Familiar with Ansible automation platform for software deployment.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Monitor space used and space available in file systems in use.
- Trouble shooting and Configuration of Hardware, CPU Utilization and disk space utilization, User & Group administration.
- Works with application & database teams to resolve performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Participate in P1/P2 issues and On-Call rotation for after-hours support. Manage RCAs.
- Should have an understanding of the VMWare environment and the hypervisors.
- Should have an understanding of Incident and change management process
- Should be proficient in event correlation, RCA writing and the problem management process.
- The candidate should be able to work in a 24x7 environment.
- Understanding of the Hyper converged environment is an added advantage.
- Understanding of VMware vSphere and Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor would be an added advantage.
- Thorough understanding of principles, practices, and techniques used in administering Complex Unix/Linux environments
“Expected annual pay for this role ranges from [$90,000] to [$110,000].
