We are looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to maintain and enhance the integrity, security, and performance of our Oracle databases. The Oracle Database Administrator responsibilities include designing and implementing Oracle databases, identifying and solving database requirements, and supporting users by managing data access, backing up and restoring databases, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of data.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•  Install and maintain Oracle database software: Ensure the database software is up-to-date and functioning correctly.

•  Create storage database structures: Implement high-level security features to protect data.

•  Alter database structures: Modify storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the company.

•  Manage user access and security: Set up user accounts and ensure secure access to the database.

•  Implement backup and recovery plans: Protect the database against data loss and reconstruct data if loss occurs.

•  Monitor and optimize database performance: Regularly check and enhance the performance of the database.

•  Identify and test software updates: Apply patches and Oracle service packs as needed.

•  Analyze and resolve database issues: Troubleshoot and fix any problems affecting the database.

•  Implement disaster recovery plans: Prepare for and manage potential data loss scenarios.

•  Work closely with development teams: Collaborate to improve database performance and support development needs.

•  Create and manage multiple databases: Assist in capacity planning and future database expansion requirements.

 

Requirements:

 

•  Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

•  Experience: Proven work experience as a Database Administrator, preferably with Oracle databases.

 

Skills:

 

•  Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.

•  Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.

•  Proficiency in programming languages and API.

•  Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to visualize algorithmic structures.

•  Strong communication skills to train users and collaborate with teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

•  Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM).

•  Experience: Hands-on experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools.
