Data Architect - L2 FTE

Job Title: Data Architect

Location: Seattle, WA

 

Job Description:

Experience: 12+ year

Mission: Design the scalable, secure foundation for data ingestion, storage, and processing

Reporting To: Enterprise Architec

Mandatory Skills

5+ years building peta byte scale data lakes on Azure (ADLS Gen2, Delta Lake)

Expert level Databricks: Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, and Spark optimizations

Realtime data pipelines: Kafka/Event Hubs, Spark Structured Streaming

Data modeling and database design for energy systems (meter data, SCADA telemetry, EMS/BMS integration)

Experience in time-series data base design such as influxDB

Hands on experience in ETL such as DBT, Airflow, API

Nice to Have

Experience with binary data processing (grid sensor feeds) or timeseries databases (TimescaleDB)

Knowledge of energy KPI frameworks: ISO 50001, DERMS, or OpenEEMeter

Key Responsibilities

Core Platform Design:

Architect multisource ingestion (batch/streaming) for IoT sensors, meters, and legacy SCADA

Implement metadata driven pipelines (Azure Purview) for data lineage and cataloging

Tenant Centric Data Isolation

Design RBAC enabled data partitioning in ADLS/Databricks.Deploy encryption intransit (TLS 1.3+) and encryption at rest (Azure CMK)

Scalable Energy Data Model:Develop canonical schemas for energy KPIs: PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), Carbon Intensity Tracking, Demand Forecast Vectors

Enable crosswalk integration with EMS/BMS via adapters

Operational Resilience:Build data quality frameworks (Great Expectations, Databricks DQ) with anomaly alerts

Optimize Delta Lake performance for mixed workloads (ML inference + reporting)

Performance Metrics

Data ingestion latency < 5s (streaming), < 15min (batch)

Support for 200+ concurrent model inferences at sub second latency.

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $1,00,000 to $2,00,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
