Job Description

Role Purpose

As an Azure Data Engineer at Wipro Technologies-Canada, your primary responsibility will be to design, test, and maintain robust software programs tailored for operating systems or applications intended for client deployment. You will take ownership of ensuring that all software solutions adhere to rigorous quality assurance standards, achieving 100% quality parameters. Your commitment to delivering high-quality software will directly influence client satisfaction and overall project success.

Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, perform data integration, and implement data pipelines using Azure technologies. Furthermore, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues, providing technical support, and ensuring that the software aligns with business needs. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where innovation and continuous learning are encouraged.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

• Proficient in Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks, with hands-on experience in Spark (PySpark or Scala) and SQL querying.

• Demonstrated experience in Azure ingestion from on-premise sources, including mainframe, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.

• Familiarity with data management tools such as Sqoop and Hadoop.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for managing metadata files and ensuring accurate data ingestion requirements are met.

• Additional certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP are preferred, coupled with hands-on experience in cloud data engineering.

• Strong programming skills in at least one language, such as Python, Scala, or Java.

• Expertise in SQL, particularly T-SQL or PL-SQL for efficient database management and operations.

• Familiar with version control systems like Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins.

• Understanding of orchestration tools like Autosys or Oozie for job scheduling and workflow management.

Nice-to-have skills include:

• Experience handling mainframe files to ensure smooth data integration.

• Background in Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA/Confluence for agile project management.

Mandatory Skills: DataBricks - Data Engineering .
