What you will be doing

• Proposition Development – Generate insights, define the solution and produce a holistic proposition for an application portfolio with high level of unknown and uncertainty by adopting a structured approach to reimagine the customer journey/ business process/technology solution and demonstrating thought leadership.
• Sell and Influence- Pitch the solution and influence senior stakeholders in business and technology. Align the cross-functional teams on the vision, objectives and approach.
• Architecture and Design – Co-create the solution design across functional, technical, integration, data and deployment areas, working along with a dedicated team on greenfield or brownfield projects.
• Hands on Engineering – Support team to produce engineering playbook, implement reference implementations, create low/no code frameworks, visualise and automate the route to live process and help drive engineering excellence. 
• Promote engineering excellence and build community – Able to articulate clear vision for engineering excellence, build a community by leading the engineering guilds and coaching/mentoring the team.
• Enhance architectural and engineering body of knowledge – Curate re-usable process, patterns, artefacts and templates to build the body of knowledge
• Product Delivery - Able to add value to product delivery by working with product owners, architects, engineering and delivery leads.

• Ability to understand & deep dive into product, architecture, engineering and way of working to effectively engage with the team, facilitate/own resolution of impediments and provide hands-on leadership across the lifecycle
• Natural inclination to lead, influence, coach teams including customer & partner stakeholders, to promote quicker and faster delivery of value, whilst maintaining focus on the goals and outcomes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to quickly establish credibility.
• Strong experience of architecting and engineering diverse set of applications e.g. customer/colleague facing, system of engagement / insights / records, orchestration across various industries with strong experience in banking
• Strong programming skills and experience of building cloud native applications across breadth of technologies and deep knowledge of one of the hyperscaler, preferably GCP.
• Experience in building and deploying microservices architectures using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, or similar frameworks. With test driven development and automation
• Strong experience of RESTful and/or gRPC web services with JSON, Protobuf, Open API
• Knowledge and/or experience with API Gateway integration
• Experience in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with implementing and deploying microservices on GCP or similar cloud hosting platform.
• Experience in Message oriented middleware technologies – Kafka or Pub/Sub or similar technology.
• Experience in implementing Enterprise Integration Patterns - using modern and legacy protocols.
• Experience with automation tools and frameworks - application, infrastructure, and data
• Knowledge or experience with BIAN, and other banking standards such as ISO200022
• Deep empathy for business solutions and engineering process to be pragmatic, mindset to challenge status quo and aptitude, tenacity & resilience to drive the change.
• Professional certifications in architecture(TOGAF), cloud(GCP) and engineering.
• Appreciation and strong understanding of global delivery model.
• Experience of working in large enterprises on medium to large size and complexity program of work.
