Fund Reporting

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functional
•    Perform monthly/quarterly account analysis and roll-forwards of selected general ledger accounts to ensure accounts properly reflect the company’s financial position in accordance with company policy and GAAP.
•    Review ledger detail, record adjusting journal entries, and prepare supporting schedules for GAAP-based financial statements.
•    Assist in the preparation of BREIT upper tier financial statements and work papers monthly.
•    Assist in the monthly/quarterly reporting to BREIT.
•    Coordinate with the treasury team to ensure that all financing transactions are properly and timely accounted for.
•    Prepare daily cash entries for BREIT upper tier entities and manage payment tracker for intercompany transactions.
•    Assist in weekly AP process and code invoices and prepare check run. 
•    Assist in the monthly equity accounting and prepare equity reconciliations and 
•    Review property-level debt financial results, mostly prepared by third parties, to ensure results are properly reflected.
•    Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries as needed.
•    Ensure team’s processes and procedures support the department’s goals according to guidelines and policies. 

Relationship Management
•    Accountable to business partner’s satisfaction with the accounting team’s performance, responsiveness, and interactions.
•    Become day-to-day go-to person for client Investment Reporting 
•    Respond to business partner inquiries and commit to deliverables.
•    Assist BREIT team during project initiatives on an as-needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS:
•    Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting or closely related field 
•    Minimum 2 year of experience in general accounting
•    Knowledge of US GAAP
•    Knowledge of MS Office Suite
•    Knowledge of accounting software and databases (e.g. Workday)
•    Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environmen


PREFERRED:
•    Real estate industry experience
