GCP/AWS Cloud Engineer

We’re looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in provisioning and managing cloud storage solutions using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices. This role involves designing secure, scalable, and cost-optimized storage architectures across cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in automating the creation of storage resources, managing access controls, implementing lifecycle and backup policies, and integrating storage provisioning into CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with encryption standards, compliance requirements, and cloud-native monitoring tools is also key. This is a technical role that sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure automation

  1. Cloud Storage Design and ArchitectureAnalyze application and business needs to design scalable cloud storage solutions.Select appropriate storage types (Object, Block, File) based on workload characteristics.Define region, redundancy, and availability settings aligned with RTO/RPO objectives
  2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) ImplementationDevelop, test, and maintain Terraform scripts to provision storage resources across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).Use modular and reusable Terraform code following best practices.Manage state files securely using backends like AWS S3 with DynamoDB or Terraform Cloud
  3. Security and ComplianceImplement encryption at rest and in transit using cloud-native features (SSE, CMEK, CSEK).Configure and manage IAM roles/policies, bucket ACLs, and access restrictions.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) by setting appropriate retention and access control policies
  4. Automation and Lifecycle ManagementSet up lifecycle rules for storage optimization (e.g., auto-archival, expiration).Automate transitions between storage classes based on access frequency and cost models.Integrate storage provisioning in CI/CD pipelines for consistent environments
  5. Monitoring and LoggingEnable and manage access logs and audit logs for storage buckets.Set up alerting and monitoring using tools like CloudWatch (AWS), Stackdriver (GCP), or Azure Monitor.Implement data usage metrics and dashboards for cost and performance visibility
  6. Cost OptimizationAnalyze storage usage to optimize for cost-efficiency (tiering, archival).Use labels/tags to track storage consumption across teams, projects, or departments.Recommend changes based on cost reports and usage patterns
  7. Backup, Replication, and Disaster RecoveryImplement cross-region replication or multi-region storage for DR scenarios.Design and configure backup and restore mechanisms using Terraform or third-party tools.Periodically validate restoration procedures
  8. Access Control and NetworkingConfigure private access paths using VPC endpoints or service perimeters.Block public access unless explicitly required and approved.Design secure network paths to storage buckets for internal applications
  9. Documentation and GovernanceMaintain clear and updated documentation of storage configurations and policies.Follow and enforce cloud governance models related to storage (naming, access, compliance).Review and improve security posture through audits and code reviews
  10. Collaboration and Continuous ImprovementWork with DevOps, security, and application teams to meet project-specific storage needs.Stay up-to-date with new cloud storage features and Terraform modules.Conduct PoCs for advanced storage use cases like intelligent tiering, data lakes, or AI model hosting

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $80,000 to $1,58,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
