Job Description

Job Title: Mainframe BizOps Support/ Developer – Payments & Card Domain

 

Role Overview:

The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe-based applications that support payment processing, card transaction systems, and banking operations. The role requires strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, along with a deep understanding of card domain functionality such as transaction authorization, settlement, and fraud detection.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate functional requirements into technical specifications for card and payment systems.
  • Develop and maintain COBOL programs, JCL scripts, and DB2 databases to support batch and online transaction processing.
  • Perform integration and validation testing using tools like MasterCard Simulator and M-TIP for chip terminal and host interface compliance
  • Support card portfolio conversions, API-based re-power testing, and authorization interface upgrades
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, BizOps, and infrastructure to ensure seamless deployment and support
  • Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and performance tuning of mainframe applications.
  • Document technical designs, test cases, and deployment procedures.

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS.
  • Experience with payment networks, card transaction systems, and banking applications.
  • Familiarity with MasterCard and Visa protocols, including chip terminal testing and M/Chip compliance
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in batch and online environments, including OLTP systems
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and global delivery models (onsite-offshore collaboration)
Mandatory Skills: COBOL .

 

Experience: 3-5 Years .

 

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $45,000 to $1,10,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
