Role Overview

As a Network Engineer at Wipro Technologies, you will be at the forefront of our commitment to delivering top-tier technical support and solutions to our clients. Your expertise will be key in troubleshooting and resolving network issues in a timely manner, in line with our stringent service level agreements (SLAs). Roles and Responsibilities :

 

  • Prepare the necessary configuration and validation for new customer installations and changes over live sites, including troubleshooting technical issues as part of 3rd line global support.
  • Knowledge of Cisco hardware, including Nexus, Catalyst, and WLAN.
  • Assume direct responsibility for completion of technical support deliverables as defined in the project plan, which encompasses Cisco routing, switching, and WLAN configuration based on customer requirements.
  • Familiarity with network routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF (VXLAN experience is a plus).
  • Conduct data network fault investigations in both local and wide area environments, synthesizing information from various sources to reach effective resolutions.
  • Demonstrate leadership in overseeing networking and facility projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring progress and quality completion.
  • Configuration of routing and switching equipment to meet outlined specifications.
  • Provide remote support for on-site engineers and communicate effectively with customers during installations.
  • Communicate with customers via email and phone to capture initial requirements effectively. Performance metrics will focus on complete and timely delivery aligned with SLA commitments.
  • Involvement in network design, site activation, resolution of various severity level tickets, and deactivation of devices and circuits as needed.

 

Preferred candidate profile:

  • CCNA Global certificate or relevant training is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls is preferred, ensuring security within network operations.
  • Familiarity with BGP, MPLS, SDWAN (e.g., Viptela, Silverpeak), Wireless (Cradlepoint), and Fortigate devices, as well as Nokia devices.
  • Experience in ISP site installation, test and turn-up (TTU), and network troubleshooting. Additional knowledge regarding CCNP/CCNA standards or equivalent networking knowledge is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of LAN/WAN/WLAN/BGP/MPLS/OSPF/EIGRP/VPN protocols and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.

Mandatory Skills: Order Management(Comms).

Experience: 1-3 Years.

  • Configuration of routing and switching equipment.
  • Remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
  • Speaking with customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture. Performance is measured from complete and on-time delivery, according to SLA. Perform end-to-end commissioning in co-operation with customer representatives to prove correct functionality.
  • Network Designing, Site Activation, Resolution of different severity level tickets, deactivation of the devices and circuits.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • CCNA Global certificate or training
  • Hands on experience in firewall
  • Knowledge of BGP, MPLS, SDWAN (Viptela, Silverpeak), Wireless (Cradlepoint), Fortigate devices, Nokia devices.
  • ISP Site installation, TTU (test and turn up) and Network troubleshooting. CCNP/CCNA (or similar level of knowledge in networking) Knowledge on SDWAN Products. Understanding and Experience on LAN/WAN/WLAN/BGP/MPLS/OSPF/EIGRP/VPN Good troubleshooting Skills.
