Job Description
Lead end-to-end delivery of Basemap Operations, a specialized workflow responsible for curating, annotating, and labeling buildings, structures, and objects across indoor and outdoor environments. The role demands a leader who combines deep domain understanding with strong operational governance, structured project management, and the ability to deliver predictable quality at scale.
Basemap & Geospatial Domain Leadership
- Lead large-scale geospatial data curation, feature identification, object classification, annotation, and labeling operations.
- Demonstrate understanding of indoor and outdoor mapping, building footprints, spatial attributes, and object-level data quality.
- Manage complex workflows involving ambiguous features, evolving annotation guidelines, and judgment-intensive labeling decisions.
- Establish process to improve annotation accuracy, consistency, throughput, and operational scalability.
- Translate changing business requirements into clear workflows, SOPs, training requirements, and quality controls.
- Establish robust governance across delivery, quality, productivity, capacity, compliance, and process adherence.
- Implement preventive controls, operational audits, early-warning indicators, and structured escalation mechanisms.
- Drive disciplined RCA, CAPA, and closure-effectiveness validation for recurring defects and delivery failures.
- Ensure accountability across managers, team leads, quality teams, and supporting functions.
- Own workflow transitions, new process launches, operational improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Develop integrated execution plans covering milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, and deliverables.
- Maintain structured RAID logs, action trackers, and change-control mechanisms.
- Establish quality-by-design practices and preventive quality controls throughout the annotation lifecycle.
- Analyze defect patterns, labeling inconsistencies, and process deviations to identify systemic improvements.
- Drive calibration, guideline adherence, feedback loops, and continuous learning.
- Leverage analytics, automation, and process improvement methodologies to increase productivity and reduce rework.
- Own delivery commitments and establish transparent, proactive communication with client stakeholders.
- Build stakeholder confidence through data-backed insights, reliable execution, and timely risk escalation.
- Develop capable operational leaders with strong domain judgment, governance discipline, and problem-solving skills.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- 16+ years in technology-enabled operations, including significant experience managing large-scale delivery teams.
- Strong exposure to geospatial data operations, digital mapping, spatial data annotation, image-based labeling, or related data curation services.
- Expertise in RCA, CAPA, operational risk management, and process control.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
- Experience with Maps, GIS platforms, indoor mapping, building/object annotation, or similar geospatial programs.
- Exposure to annotation tools, quality sampling methodologies, and human-in-the-loop AI/ML operations.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent experience.
