Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL database administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, optimizing, securing, and supporting highly available database environments across production and non-production systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, performance tuning expertise, backup/recovery management, and collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL databases across multiple environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability to ensure optimal system reliability.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
- Implement database security standards, user access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues, incidents, and production outages with quick resolution.
- Support database migration, upgrade, patching, and replication activities.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, cloud, and application teams for database integration and deployment support.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and monitoring tools.
- Analyze slow queries, locking issues, deadlocks, and resource bottlenecks.
- Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, standards, and operational procedures.
- Support cloud-based database environments on AWS/Azure/GCP where applicable.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
- Experience with database replication, clustering, failover, and high availability configurations.
- Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.
- Experience in backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and vulnerability management.
- Experience supporting production-critical applications and 24x7 environments.
- Understanding of cloud database services such as AWS RDS/Aurora is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of automation using Python, Bash, or Ansible.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized database deployments is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS, or cloud technologies are preferred.

Do
- Ensure timely response of all the tickets raised by the client end user
- Service requests solutioning by maintaining quality parameters
- Act as a custodian of clientâÂÂs network/ server/ system/ storage/ platform/ infrastructure and other equipmentâÂÂs to keep track of each of their proper functioning and upkeep
- Keep a check on the number of tickets raised (dial home/ email/ chat/ IMS), ensuring right solutioning as per the defined resolution timeframe
- Perform root cause analysis of the tickets raised and create an action plan to resolve the problem to ensure right client satisfaction
- Provide an acceptance and immediate resolution to the high priority tickets/ service
- Installing and configuring software/ hardware requirements based on service requests
- 100% adherence to timeliness as per the priority of each issue, to manage client expectations and ensure zero escalations
- Provide application/ user access as per client requirements and requests to ensure timely solutioning
- Track all the tickets from acceptance to resolution stage as per the resolution time defined by the customer
- Maintain timely backup of important data/ logs and management resources to ensure the solution is of acceptable quality to maintain client satisfaction
- Coordinate with on-site team for complex problem resolution and ensure timely client servicing
- Review the log which Chat BOTS gather and ensure all the service requests/ issues are resolved in a timely manner
