Job Description: 

Role View:-

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Backlog Team, responsible for delivering, stabilizing, and optimizing data engineering work that supports ongoing business and analytics needs. This role focuses on improving existing data pipelines, resolving technical debt, enhancing performance, and completing prioritized backlog items across our AWS-based data platform.

You’ll work closely with product owners, analysts, and other engineers to ensure reliable, scalable, and well-documented data solutions.

 

Job Description: -

Key Responsibilities

•  Deliver and maintain data engineering backlog items, including enhancements, bug fixes, and refactoring

•   Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using AWS services

•   Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, performance, and reliability issues

•   Refactor legacy pipelines to improve scalability, cost efficiency, and maintainability

•    Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify backlog requirements and define technical solutions

•    Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting for data pipelines

•    Implement data validation, error handling, and recovery mechanisms

•    Support incremental migrations to modern AWS data architectures

•    Document data flows, transformations, and operational procedures

•   Contribute to best practices, coding standards, and automation efforts

S͏kills:-

Required Skills & Experience

•    Strong experience as a Data Engineer in AWS environments

•    Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:

o   S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions

o   Redshift, Athena

o    EMR and/or Spark

•   Proficiency in Python and SQL

•  Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines

•  Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star schema, fact/dimension tables)

•  Experience working with Agile teams and managing technical backlog items

•             Understanding of data quality, lineage, and governance concepts

Nice to Have

•    Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

•    CI/CD for data pipelines

•     Experience handling legacy systems or technical debt

•     Familiarity with cost optimization in AWS
