Role Purpose

The AWS Data Engineer at Wipro Technologies is instrumental in designing, testing, and maintaining sophisticated data engineering solutions to support client operations. This role ensures the development and deployment of high-quality software programs tailored for cloud-based environments, specifically AWS, that meet stringent quality assurance standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, reliable, and performant data pipelines and systems.

This position requires an individual who is proactive in problem-solving, passionate about innovation, and committed to delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced, client-focused setting. You will play a central role in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence, enabling data-driven decision-making and empowering our clients’ business strategies.

Key responsibilities include architecting ETL/ELT pipelines, executing data migration projects, automating workflows using Python, and leveraging AWS native services to optimize data processing and integration. This role demands a detail-oriented approach with an emphasis on quality, security, and efficiency.

Technical Expertise and Tools

The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience and deep knowledge of AWS data migration and data engineering tools. Key technologies include:

  • AWS Glue: Expertise in designing and managing serverless ETL jobs to process and transform data across various sources and destinations.
  • Data Migration Services (DMS) and DataSync: Experience in securely migrating databases and files with minimal downtime to AWS cloud environments.
  • Python Programming: Skilled in utilizing Python for data engineering tasks such as automation, scripting, and building data pipelines.
  • ETL/ELT Pipelines: Strong understanding of designing, building, and optimizing extract, transform, and load processes to efficiently ingest and process large data sets.
  • Data Integration Patterns: In-depth knowledge of best practices for integrating heterogeneous data sources ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.

This role will also involve collaborating closely with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to ensure smooth end-to-end data flows within the client environment.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

  • Proven expertise with AWS Glue for building and managing data pipelines and ETL workflows in cloud environments.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience working in data engineering, data migration, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency with Python, especially in contexts of data processing, automation, and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data migration tools such as DMS and DataSync.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud architectures and security best practices in data handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows at scale.
