Role: Dynamics 365 Functional Lead – R2R Finance

Location: Den Bosch/Eindhoven, Netherlands

Working model: Hybrid (2 days from the office)

Contract Duration: 6-12 months

Start Date: Immediate or 1 week max

Language requirement: English(Mandatory), Dutch(Preferred)

Mandatory Skills     

Strong functional expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (Finance Module)

• Deep knowledge of Record-to-Report (R2R) processes including General Ledger, Financial Dimensions, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Period Close, Consolidation and Financial Reporting

• Experience in end-to-end D365 ERP transformation programs (minimum 2 full life-cycle implementations)

• Strong knowledge of Finance business processes, accounting standards, and financial controls

• Experience in conducting Fit-Gap Analysis, Solution Design Workshops, CRP/SIT/UAT

• Ability to prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs), process flows and business requirements

• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consulting experience

• Experience in Data Migration, Cutover, Hypercare, and Production Support

• Knowledge of integration touchpoints with P2P, O2C, Projects, Treasury, Tax, and Reporting systems

• Experience managing offshore/onshore teams and mentoring consultants

Secondary/Desired / Additional Skills       • Experience in Global Template Design and Multi-country Rollouts

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO), DevOps delivery methodology and Agile/Scrum

• Experience with Localization, Intercompany Accounting, Consolidations and Shared Service Finance Models

Years of exp needed 15+ Years Overall Experience

• Minimum 10+ years in ERP Finance consulting

• Minimum 5+ years in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance

• At least 2-3 end-to-end D365 transformation implementations as Functional Lead or Solution Lead

Roles and Responsibilities post joining in detail  1. Finance Workstream Leadership

• Own the end-to-end R2R workstream delivery.

• Act as the primary functional lead for all finance-related discussions.

• Drive business process standardization across regions and legal entities.

2. Requirement Gathering & Solution Design

• Conduct discovery workshops and process design sessions.

• Analyze current-state and future-state finance processes.

• Perform Fit-Gap assessments against standard D365 capabilities.

• Define solution approach and recommend best practices.

• Review and sign off functional design documents.

 

3. Business Process Ownership

• Design and validate solutions for:

 - General Ledger (GL)

 - Chart of Accounts

 - Financial Dimensions

 - Fixed Assets

 - Cash & Bank Management

 - Period-End Closing

 - Intercompany Accounting

 - Consolidation & Financial Reporting

 - Budgeting & Forecasting

 - Financial Compliance Controls

4. Program Delivery & Governance

• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming and prioritization.

• Manage functional scope, risks, assumptions and dependencies.

• Participate in Architecture and Design Authority discussions.

• Provide regular status updates to Program Manager.

• Support estimation, planning and change request assessments.

 

5. Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with P2P, O2C, SCM, Manufacturing and Project Operations teams.

• Define finance integration requirements with external systems.

• Ensure end-to-end process integrity across workstreams.

 

6. Testing Leadership

• Review test strategy and test scenarios.

• Lead CRP, SIT and UAT activities.

• Manage defect triage and business sign-offs.

• Ensure business readiness before production deployment.

 

7. Data Migration & Cutover

• Define finance master and transactional data migration requirements.

• Validate migration results.

• Support mock conversions and production cutover activities.

• Ensure financial reconciliation and audit compliance during migration.

 

8. Stakeholder Management

• Facilitate governance meetings and executive workshops.

• Present solution recommendations and implementation updates.
