Role: Senior Workday Functional Consultant
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Workday Functional Consultant to lead functional design, configuration, and optimization across multiple Workday modules including HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll. This role requires deep domain knowledge, hands-on configuration experience, and the ability to work with global stakeholders to solve complex business problems.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead functional design and configuration of Workday modules: HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll.
• Own and optimize core business processes such as Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, Termination, and Time Off.
• Configure and maintain leave plans, accruals, intermittent leaves, and eligibility rules.
• Support payroll setup including earnings, deductions, external inputs, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to translate business requirements into Workday solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues including incorrect transactions, eligibility errors, and process failures.
• Provide functional leadership in Workday releases, testing, and deployment cycles.
• Document configurations and create functional specifications for integrations and reports.
• Mentor junior consultants and support training and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
• Minimum 8 years of Workday functional experience across multiple modules.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
o Business Processes: Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, Termination
o Absence & Time Tracking: Accruals, cascading leaves, balance periods, work schedules
o Payroll: Earnings, deductions, external payroll inputs, journal lines
o Security & Notifications: Security group setup, alerts, validations
o Workday Docs: Letter templates, surveys, reference letters
• Ability to analyze and fix incorrect transactions and guide Tier 1 support teams.
• Experience working in global Workday environments with legacy challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• Workday Pro Certification in HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll.
• Strong understanding of Workday release management and change control processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills."
Experience: 8-10 Years .
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
