Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to create high-level application architecture designs across modules and database layers, ensuring alignment with functional requirements and integration guidelines.

Area of Responsibility

Requirement Analysis-Coordinate with business and development teams to understand application-specific requirements relating to module-level needs, data flows, and integration expectations.

Designing-Create high level application architecture designs across application and database layers to ensure alignment with defined design guidelines, including frameworks, patterns, protocols, API design.

Integration assessment and support-Assess and evaluate application’s interaction with existing systems, databases, and infrastructure to validate integration feasibility.

Troubleshooting-Support application testing after deployment and help validate functional behaviour of application design.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled IP Networking & Linux Engineer with strong expertise in Linux networking, network protocol development, and system-level programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging, andoptimizing networking solutions on Linux platforms, with a focus on routing protocols, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking features, andnetwork stack enhancements.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in C programming, Linux Device Drivers, Network Programming, TCP/IP protocols,and routing protocol implementation using open-source networking frameworks such as FRRouting (FRR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain networking software on Linux platforms.
  • Develop and enhance Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features.
  • Work on routing protocol implementation, enhancement, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and debug Linux networking modules and device drivers.
  • Analyze network packet flows and troubleshoot protocol-level issues.
  • Optimize network performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including system, firmware, and platform engineers.
  • Perform root cause analysis for customer and field issues.
  • Develop automated test tools and validation frameworks for networking features.

Mandatory Skills

Programming & OS

  • Strong programming experience in C
  • Linux System Programming
  • Linux Kernel concepts
  • Linux Device Drivers
  • Multithreading and IPC mechanisms
  • Debugging using GDB and Linux diagnostic tools

Networking

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP
  • Network Programming (Sockets Programming)
  • IPv4/IPv6 Protocols
  • Routing and Switching Concepts
  • Packet Processing and Traffic Analysis

Routing Protocols

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:

  • OSPF
  • BGP
  • IS-IS
  • BFD

Layer 2 Technologies

  • VLAN
  • STP / RSTP / MSTP
  • LACP
  • Ethernet Switching Concepts

Open Source Networking

  • FRRouting (FRR)
  • Linux Networking Stack
  • Routing Daemons Configuration and Debugging

 

Mandatory Skills: Unix Networking .

 

Experience: 8-10 Years .
