About the Role We are looking for an experienced SolarWinds Administrator to manage and support our end-to-end enterprise monitoring environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering SolarWinds Orion modules, ensuring platform health, creating monitoring solutions, and providing performance insights to various technical teams. --- Key Responsibilities SolarWinds Platform Administration Manage and administer SolarWinds modules including NPM, SAM, NCM, NTA, VMAN, and other Orion Modules. Perform onboarding of new servers, network devices, applications, and cloud resources into SolarWinds. Configure application monitors, component templates, and custom pollers based on requirements. Set up advanced alerting using SWQL queries, custom thresholds, and escalation rules. Create and maintain dashboards, reports, maps, and widgets for operations, infrastructure, and management teams. Monitoring & Troubleshooting Perform performance analysis and RCA using PerfStack, NetPath, and built-in diagnostic tools. Troubleshoot monitoring gaps, polling issues, and data inconsistencies. Regularly review alert noise, fine-tune alert logic, and optimize monitoring configurations. Platform Health & Maintenance Monitor and maintain Orion Platform health, including polling engines, web servers, HA environment, and agents. Manage database performance, maintenance tasks, retention policies, and cleanup activities. Ensure SolarWinds services run optimally and conduct periodic health checks for proactive issue prevention.
Upgrades & Integrations Plan and execute SolarWinds upgrades, hotfix/patch deployments, and feature enhancements. Support integrations with ServiceNow, Jira, email gateways, and other ITSM or automation tools. Assist in API-based automation or data extraction as necessary. Reporting & Documentation Prepare and deliver weekly/monthly SLA reports, availability summaries, and performance insights. Maintain documentation for monitoring standards, runbooks, SOPs, and configuration baselines. Support audit and compliance requirements with platform data and logs. Required Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience administering SolarWinds Orion Platform and its modules. Strong understanding of networking, server infrastructure, Windows/Linux, and virtualization technologies. Proficiency in SWQL, PowerShell, or automation scripting for custom solutions. Good knowledge of SQL Server, database maintenance, and performance tuning. Experience with ITSM ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira). Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Preferred Skills (Good to Have) Experience with cloud monitoring (AWS/Azure). Knowledge of SNMP, WMI, API integrations, and custom poller creation. Understanding of distributed polling architecture and HA/failover configurations.

1. Design and Develop solutions as per client’s specifications

  • Work on different softwares like CAD, CAE to develop appropriate models as per the project plan/ customer requirements
  • Test  the protype and designs produced on the softwares and check all the boundary conditions (impact analysis, stress analysis etc)
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility by integrating software components into a fully functional software system
  • Create a prototype as per the engineering drawings & outline CAD model is prepared
  • Perform failure effect mode analysis (FMEA) for any new requirements received from the client
  • Provide optimized solutions to the client by running simulations in virtual environment
  • Ensure software is updated with latest features to make it cost effective for the client
  • Enhance applications/ solutions by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing systems
  • Follow industry standard operating procedures for various processes and systems as per the client requirement while modeling a solution on the software

2. Provide customer support and problem solving from time to time

  • Perform defect fixing raised by the client or software integration team while solving the tickets raised
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures for the customer
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems on time & with minimum latency and maximum efficiency
  • Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback for adequate resolution with customer satisfaction
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards

3. Ensure reporting & documentation for the client

  • Ensure weekly, monthly status reports for the clients as per requirements
  • Maintain documents and create a repository of all design changes, recommendations etc
  • Maintain time-sheets for the clients
  • Providing written knowledge transfer/ history of the project
