Data Center Technical Lead – Job Description

Location

  • Bengaluru / Hyderabad

Role Summary

The Data Center Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, operations, and optimization of data centre infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data centre operations (servers, storage, networking, Backup and disaster recovery)
  • Ensure 24x7 uptime, availability, and performance
  • Manage Incident, Problem, and Change Management (ITIL)
  • Act as escalation point for critical incidents
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement
  • Perform capacity planning and lifecycle management
  • Ensure security and compliance adherence
  • Manage stakeholders and vendors

Must-Have Skills

  • Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • SolarWinds & SCOM Monitoring tools expertise
  • Cloud exposure (AWS / Azure)
  • Automation / scripting (PowerShell, Ansible)
  • Experience handling major incidents
  • Strong stakeholder management

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Data centre transformation / cloud migration experience
  • Container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Security and compliance knowledge
  • ServiceNow or ITSM tools
  • Relevant certifications (ITIL, VMware, AWS, Azure)

Experience Requirements

  • 8–12+ years in IT infrastructure
  • 3–5+ years in leadership role
  • Enterprise / multi-vendor environment experience

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT / Engineering
  • ITIL / Cloud / VMware certifications preferred
