This role sits within Wipro Consulting’s India Consulting Hub – Finance Transformation practice and will support a large-scale global finance transformation programme for a strategic enterprise client.

Overview & Responsibilities / Job Role Overview:

• Director Consulting – Controllership, will be providing senior consulting leadership across managing value office for a large scale Finance transformation, ensuring value opportunities are getting identified within the area of controllership, R2R, close, financial reporting, reconciliations, controls, policy, risk and compliance. The role will combine CFO advisory credibility, business-building accountability, delivery assurance and people leadership to help Wipro Consulting generate value for the clients running Finance transformations.
• Work closely with global Finance Transformation leadership, market units, account teams, GBLs, BPS, Technology Transformation, ecosystem partners and ICH leadership to create pull-through opportunities for the broader Wipro Consulting ecosystem. The role will position ICH Finance Transformation as a trusted global engine for scalable delivery, sales enablement, reusable assets, AI-led accelerators, differentiated PoVs and measurable client value.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of business development, consulting delivery, CFO-domain depth, technology awareness and people leadership, with the ability to operate credibly with senior clients while building scalable capability within the India Consulting Hub.

Role Mandate: Act as the senior controllership design authority and mission-control leader, ensuring the transformation delivers a value-led, controlled and auditable AI enabled process automations.

Candidate Profile – Skills and Qualifications Required:

• • Senior finance transformation leader with executive presence and credibility with CFO, controller, audit, finance operations, technology, and transformation stakeholders.
  • Deep controllership expertise across R2R, financial close, reporting, reconciliations, controls, risk, compliance, policy, and audit readiness.
  • Strong consulting judgement with ability to shape transformation strategy, challenge design decisions, manage ambiguity, and drive executive alignment.
  • Commercial acumen to support value tracking, scope discipline, account growth, adjacent opportunity identification, and trusted-client-partner positioning.
  • Delivery leadership capability to mobilise multi-disciplinary teams, assure quality, manage risk, and drive measurable business outcomes at scale.
  • Innovation orientation across digital finance, automation, process mining, analytics, AI-enabled controls, intelligent close, and future-ready finance operating models.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of finance technologies and transformation enablers including SAP S/4HANA, , BlackLine, Trintech etc. Exposure to reporting platforms like Power BI, Board, Anaplan etc and process management tools like Celonis, ARIS.
  • Shape transformation propositions  in Finance AI, automation, analytics and process intelligence to solve CFO priorities with tangible business value.

Domain and Technology Skillset Required: Controllership, R2R, financial close, statutory and management reporting, account reconciliations, journal governance, intercompany, consolidation, controls, audit readiness, ERP finance, close management tools, reconciliation platforms, reporting technologies, automation, analytics, and emerging AI-enabled finance capabilities.

• Driving Transformation: Shape transformation priorities that improve close cycle time, control effectiveness, reporting confidence, standardisation, automation, audit readiness, operating model resilience, and finance productivity.
• Commercial Leadership and Delivery Excellence: Own senior stakeholder governance, transformation assurance, delivery quality, risk management, scope discipline, value tracking, team mobilisation, and commercial alignment. Support account growth by identifying adjacent opportunities, strengthening client confidence, and positioning Wipro Consulting as a trusted transformation partner.
• Transformation Leadership and Innovation: Drive adoption of digital finance, automation, process mining, analytics, AI-enabled controls, intelligent close, and future-ready finance operating models. Build reusable assets, differentiated offerings, case studies, accelerators, and thought capital for Wipro Consulting’s Finance Transformation practice.
• Thought Leadership: Represent the practice in senior forums, shape controllership transformation points of view, mentor consulting teams, and contribute to market-relevant finance transformation propositions.

Experience Expected: 18+ years of experience in controllership, finance transformation, R2R leadership, financial reporting, audit, controls, ERP-enabled transformation, consulting, or shared services leadership. Qualified CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, MBA Finance, or equivalent preferred.
