Role Purpose

Role: GCP Consultant

Core Technical Skills Required:

• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BigQuery for data warehousing, DataProc for managed Spark and Hadoop clusters, Data Fusion for data integration, and Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Proficiency in data integration and transformation using Qlik Talend Cloud and advanced scripting capabilities in Python and SQL.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and ensure reliability of data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to architect and implement production-ready data solutions leveraging GCP technologies.
2. Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines, data processing workflows, and scalable storage architectures using best practices on Google Cloud platforms.
3. Manage and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ensure high data quality, integrity, and availability across systems.
4. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, swiftly resolving any issues in cooperation with business stakeholders to minimize downtime and data inconsistencies.
5. Perform comprehensive performance tuning of BigQuery datasets and queries to maximize efficiency and reduce cost implications.
6. Support disaster recovery preparedness by regularly backing up data assets and configuring robust recovery protocols.
7. Document all technical implementations, architectural decisions, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
8. Work closely with infrastructure teams, including Terraform specialists, providing configuration input to automate resource provisioning.
9. Apply basic domain knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly within the HVAC industry, to tailor data solutions that meet industry-specific requirements.

Mandatory Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform's BigQuery data warehouse and its ecosystem, including performance tuning, dataset management, and query optimization.
• Experience designing and managing data pipelines on GCP utilizing DataProc, Data Fusion, and Apache Airflow for orchestration.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and working knowledge of complex SQL queries to manipulate and analyze data.
• Familiarity with implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and maintain code integrity within cloud-based data solutions.
• Basic expertise with Qlik Talend Cloud as a data integration tool, including configuration and troubleshooting.
