JD for Senior Migration Engineer (OpenShift to ROSA) – Honda AWS migration

· Seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior Migration Engineer to lead and execute the technical migration of our containerised workloads from on-premises OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) to Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA)

· Experience in migration tasks including design the strategy, the execution, troubleshooting cluster-level complexities, and directly moving applications.

· A proven track record of successfully executing large-scale live container migrations with minimal downtime. · Deploy and operate migration tools such as Red Hat OpenShift Migration Toolkit for Applications (MTA), MTC (Migration Toolkit for Containers), Velero, or Crane.

· Refactor existing GitOps pipelines (ArgoCD / OpenShift GitOps) to seamlessly target the new ROSA environments.

· Act as the primary technical point of contact to resolve real-time container runtime issues, image registry mismatches, and SCC (Security Context Constraints) blocks during migration.

· Benchmark and optimize ROSA cluster performance, nodes, and application resource limits post-migration.

· Deep OpenShift Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience administering, upgrading, and configuring Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x).

· AWS Cloud Proficiency: Strong operational knowledge of AWS core services (VPC, IAM, EC2, EFS, EBS, Route 53) specifically how they integrate with ROSA.

· Storage & State Mastery: Solid experience migrating stateful applications using CSI plugins, Ceph/ODF (on-prem), and AWS storage classes.

 

Mandatory Skills: OpenShift .
