Network Data Admin L3

 

Job Overview:

The Network Engineer L3 is responsible for the management and maintenance of a large, complex enterprise network infrastructure. This includes ensuring the stability and performance of data centre networks supporting business and mission-critical applications. The role involves 24/7 operations, incident management, troubleshooting, and participation in major network changes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations

Shift Work: Work in a 24/7 shift environment to ensure continuous network availability.

Incident Management: Handle escalated/high-critical incidents and tickets.

Change Management: Analyse risk and impact, and participate in major network changes.

Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network issues, identify incident patterns, and drive root cause analysis.

ITIL Processes: Adhere to ITIL best practices for incident, change, and problem management.

Data Centre Operations: Manage and maintain data centre networks supporting critical applications.

 

Network Installation and Troubleshooting

  Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, and DHCP in enterprise environments.

  Routing Protocols: Expert level troubleshooting of dynamic and static routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VRRP).

  Switching Technology: Deep expertise in LAN/data centre networking (Gigabit Ethernet, L2/L3 Switching, VLANs, STP, VTP).

  Operational Support: Provide DNS, DHCP, and NTP support.

  Monitoring Tools: Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Moogsoft).

Requirements:

Must Have:

  Experience: 8-10 years of core enterprise network experience.

  Wireless Technologies: At least 3 years of experience with enterprise wireless (Cisco/Aruba).

  Cisco Expertise: Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching across access, core, and distribution layers.

  Certification: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional).

  Team Leadership: Experience managing a team of at least 10 members.

Add-On/Preferred Skills:

  SDWAN: Experience with SDWAN solutions.

  Firewall: Basic (L1) skills in Palo Alto firewalls.

  ITIL Certification: ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certified.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

A seasoned network engineer with deep hands-on experience in Cisco and Aruba enterprise environments, strong troubleshooting and automation skills, proven leadership in managing network teams, and a solid understanding of ITIL processes. Additional skills in SDWAN, firewalls, and network monitoring tools are highly desirable.
