Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Lead Analyst, Data Operations & Governance to support Master Data Management (MDM) Operations. This role combines operational delivery, governance oversight, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of analysts while remaining hands-on in managing complex operational issues, driving process improvements, ensuring data quality, and delivering business-critical outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day MDM Operations and Legal Entity support activities.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 3-4 analysts while ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex data, operational, and governance issues.
  • Review and approve analyst work, reconciliations, data updates, and operational decisions.
  • Drive data quality, governance compliance, SLAs, KPIs, and control effectiveness.
  • Partner with business, technology, and operations stakeholders to deliver solutions and drive issue resolution.
  • Lead process improvement, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making through data-driven insights.
  • Maintain governance artifacts including metadata, business glossary, and data lineage documentation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, MDM, and operational controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive accountability.
  • Ability to balance operational execution with people leadership responsibilities.

Technical Skills Required

  • Advanced SQL (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning).
  • Snowflake or similar data warehouse platforms.
  • Data Quality, Reconciliation, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Reporting & Visualization tools (Sigma, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Good to Have: Python, Git/Version Control, Workflow automation tools.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Data Operations, Data Management, Data Governance, MDM, or related functions.
  • Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Prior experience leading analysts and managing operational delivery.
  • Demonstrated success driving governance, process improvements, stakeholder engagement, and business outcomes.
