Key Responsibilities͏
The Lead Robotics Research Scientist will:
- Develop and communicate a compelling research vision and strategy that aligns with Wipro's goals and addresses emerging challenges in robotics and embodied AI.
- Lead collaborative, multidisciplinary projects spanning autonomous robotics, AI-driven perception and control, human-robot interaction, and the integration of physical systems with intelligent algorithms.
- Partner closely with clients to understand their challenges, co-design innovative robotics solutions, and facilitate the translation of experimental research into viable commercial products and services.
- Mentor, guide, and inspire research teams, fostering an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and professional growth.
- Produce influential research publications, secure patents, and contribute thought leadership that enhances Wipro's reputation as an industry pioneer.

Required Qualifications͏
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on robotics or embodied intelligence.
- A minimum of 5 years post-PhD experience in industry-focused or applied robotics research and development roles, showcasing a blend of academic rigor and practical contributions.
- Proven expertise in leading research efforts in robotics, evidenced by a robust portfolio of published work in top-tier AI and robotics journals and conferences, as well as impactful product or technology advancements.
- Hands-on proficiency in critical robotics domains such as perception (sensor processing, computer vision), motion planning, control systems, reinforcement learning models, simulation environments, and hardware-software integration.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities with a track record of mentoring researchers and collaborating effectively across global, multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective client engagement, clear dissemination of complex technical concepts, and advocacy for research programs.
