Job Description

Role: MES Practice Director (Smart Manufacturing & OT Transformation)

Location: Bengaluru

Role Overview

The MES Practice Director will build, scale, and lead the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and OT Transformation practice, driving end-to-end smart manufacturing transformation across global clients.

This role combines domain expertise in MES/MOM, practice leadership, and business growth ownership, delivering measurable outcomes in productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities͏

1. Practice Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the MES/MOM practice vision, strategy, and roadmap
  • Build integrated offerings across:
    • MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, SAP DMC, Critical Manufacturing)
    • IT–OT integration, SCADA, Historian, Unified Namespace
  • Establish and scale a Centre of Excellence (CoE) with reusable assets, accelerators, and frameworks
  • Drive standardisation and modernisation of legacy MES and shopfloor systems

 

2. Client Advisory & Transformation Leadership

  • Act as trusted advisor to CXOs (COO, CIO, CTO) and plant leadership
  • Lead:
    • Digital manufacturing strategy and roadmap definition
    • MES maturity assessments and transformation programmes
  • Drive multi-site MES rollout, harmonisation, and global standardisation
  • Align MES within end-to-end digital thread (PLM → ERP → Manufacturing → Aftermarket)

3. Solutioning & Architecture Leadership

  • Own end-to-end solution architecture for:
    • MES implementation and modernisation
    • ERP–MES–OT integrations
    • SCADA & historian transformations
  • Design scalable architectures integrating:
    • Industrial IoT / Edge
    • Data platforms and analytics
  • Ensure IT–OT convergence and interoperability

 

4. Program Delivery & Execution

  • Lead large-scale MES programmes across industries (discrete/process)
  • Oversee full lifecycle:
    • Consult → Design → Implement → Deploy → Rollout → Support
  • Ensure:
    • Delivery excellence (quality, timelines, outcomes)
    • Adoption through change management and training
  • Drive governance across global and distributed delivery teams

5. Pre-Sales, GTM & Revenue Growth

  • Own deal shaping, solutioning, and pursuit strategy
  • Build compelling:
    • Proposals
    • Business cases
    • ROI-led transformation narratives
  • Partner with hyperscalers and MES ISVs to strengthen ecosystem
  • Drive pipeline growth and large transformation deal wins

 

6. Practice & Capability Building

  • Build and mentor high-performing MES consulting, architecture, and delivery teams
  • Develop:
    • Reusable accelerators
    • Industry-specific solution templates
  • Strengthen partner ecosystem (Siemens, SAP, Rockwell, AVEVA, etc.)
  • Define skills roadmap and drive talent development

 

͏Experience Requirements

  • 20+ years in manufacturing / Industry 4.0 with strong MES experience
  • 5+ years in practice leadership / portfolio management roles
  • Proven track record of:
    • Driving large MES transformations
    • Building and scaling practices
    • Delivering measurable business outcomes
