Job Description

QA Architect - K6, Playwright in aviation is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, robust, and performance-driven test automation frameworks for mission-critical aviation platforms such as Crew Management Systems, Flight Operations, and Passenger Services. This role ensures quality at speed by leveraging modern tools like K6 for performance testing and Playwright for end-to-end functional automation.

Key Responsibilities:

•             Automation Strategy & Framework Design

•             Define enterprise-wide test automation strategy for aviation applications (web, mobile, APIs).

•             Architect reusable frameworks using Playwright for functional/UI automation and K6 for performance/load testing.

•             Establish best practices for test data management, parallel execution, and CI/CD integration.

•             Performance & Reliability Testing

•             Implement K6-based performance testing for critical aviation workflows (crew scheduling, flight planning).

•             Define SLAs/SLOs for response times and throughput; integrate performance metrics into observability dashboards.

•             Integration & DevOps

•             Embed automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.

•             Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable shift-left testing and automated quality gates.

 

Governance & Compliance

•             Ensure test frameworks comply with aviation safety standards and regulatory requirements (FAA/EASA).

•             Maintain traceability and evidence for audits and certification processes.

 

Collaboration & Leadership

•             Work closely with QA engineers, developers, and product owners to align automation with business priorities.

•             Mentor teams on advanced automation practices and performance engineering.

  

Skills Required

Technical Skills

•             Automation Tools: Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript), K6 for performance testing.

•             Programming Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python (for scripting and utilities).

•             CI/CD Integration: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.

•             Performance Engineering: Load, stress, and endurance testing using K6; analysis of metrics and bottlenecks.

•             Cloud & Containers: Familiarity with Azure/AWS environments, Docker, Kubernetes.

•             Observability: Integration with Prometheus, Grafana for performance dashboards.

Domain Knowledge

•             Aviation systems (Crew Scheduling, Flight Ops, Passenger Services).

•             FAA/EASA compliance and safety-critical testing standards.

Soft Skills

•             Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

•             Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

•             Ability to lead QA automation initiatives and mentor teams.

Preferred Certifications

•             ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer.

•             Performance Testing certifications (e.g., K6 or equivalent).

•             SAFe® Agilist for scaled agile delivery.

  

Experience

•             10–12+ years in QA and test automation roles.

•             Min 5 years in architecting automation frameworks for enterprise applications.

•             Exposure to aviation IT systems and performance-critical environments.

  • Track and review the process quality through audits
    • Develop audit plan as per SOP and allocate reviews to the analysts 
    • Monitor to ensure that the audits are being conducted as per plan
    • Review the audit data across the account to review the account performance on quality parameters, identify the error trends 
    • Prepare reports for review for the internal leadership as well as client
    • Identify the best practices and work with the delivery team to deploy for improvement
    • Ensure compliance part of the process by front-ending with the external auditors CMMIE or any onsite audits, coordinating with the internal teams and working with SDH and AH to develop SOPs and compliance registers as required for the audits.
  • Drive training within the account to ensure process quality is maintained
    • Conduct Root Cause Analysis of the errors to identify the training intervention to bridge the gap
    • conduct monthly trainings based on the error types identified in the process audits
    • Deploy various training methods (classroom based, web based etc) to develop the skill and reduce error rates
    • Develop the training reports and share with the key stakeholders including the client twice a week. 
  • Support the incoming new process
    • For an existing client, support the any new process addition by ensuring online process training is conducted for the agents, agents have the necessary skill and access is granted to them on applications required
    • For any new process outside the account, support the team in identifying the skill, availability of skill within DOP or avenues for upskilling the team to support the new process

      • Set goals for the team, conduct timely performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to own direct reports
      • Ensure that the Performance Nxt is followed for the entire team

      • Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
