Job Description

Requirement: Senior Observability Solutions Architect

Location: Pan India

Short Description:

Cisco Observability Suite: Proven, hands-on experience with Cisco's observability tools, including Splunk O11Y, ITSI, Core, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, and/or Cisco Secure Application.

OpenTelemetry: Expert-level knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTel) for instrumentation and data collection.

Familiarity with a wide range of APM tools and custom monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana)

Detailed JD

This role is a hybrid of strategic design and hands-on technical solutioning, with a focus on centralizing and standardizing enterprise observability practices. Must be a key player in leveraging the Cisco suite of observability tools to provide deep, actionable insights across our complex and diverse IT landscape.

Responsibilities 🛠️

 * Strategic & Technical Solutioning: Design and implement a cohesive, enterprise-wide observability strategy. This includes architecture, data pipelines, and tool selection, with a strong emphasis on the Cisco observability suite (e.g., Splunk O11Y, ITSI, Core, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, etc.).

 * Data Centralization & Standardization: Drive the consolidation of telemetry data (metrics, logs, and traces) from various existing APM and custom monitoring solutions into a centralized observability platform.

 * OpenTelemetry (OTel) Expertise: Architect and implement solutions using OpenTelemetry to ensure data interoperability and to avoid vendor lock-in. You'll be the champion for OTel adoption and instrumentation best practices.

 * Interoperability & Data Schemas: Work with stakeholders across different teams to understand and integrate various data schemas and contracts from disparate monitoring tools, ensuring consistent and meaningful data correlation.

 * Team Collaboration & Enablement: Collaborate with development, DevOps, and SRE teams to embed observability into the software development lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and training to ensure effective use of the observability platform.

 * Troubleshooting & Analysis: Use observability data to perform root cause analysis, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for system optimization.

͏

Key Requirements

 * Experience: 10+ years of experience in a technical role, with at least 3-5 years focused on observability, monitoring, or SRE.

 * Cisco Observability Suite: Proven, hands-on experience with Cisco's observability tools, including Splunk O11Y, ITSI, Core, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, and/or Cisco Secure Application.

 * Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of the three pillars of observability: metrics, logs, and traces.

 * OpenTelemetry: Expert-level knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTel) for instrumentation and data collection.

 * Data Management: Experience with different telemetry data schemas and a strong ability to architect a centralized data model.

 * Broad Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of APM tools and custom monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana) and the ability to work with and migrate data from them.

 * Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
