Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to interpret data and turn into information (reports, dashboards, interactive visualizations etc) which can offer ways to improve a business, thus affecting business decisions.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience Level: Total 9+ experience with 5 to 7+ years of relevant Data Engineering experience and hands-on Production support experience (rotational shifts but no full night shifts however week-offs may be rotational)

 

Demonstrable experience in:

    • Data Engineering Support - Production support for Data Platform on AWS stack
    • Reporting Platform Support - Production support for Power BI
    • Strong skills in Redshift, SQL, PL-SQL, Glue, Airflow, Spark, PySpark.
    • Continuous Job monitoring, tracking production issues, fixing experience on data process and BI reporting systems.
    • Experience in understanding complex SQL/PL-SQL scripts, shell scripts and coding skills/code modifications in SQL, PL-SQL
    • Comfortable in code deployment in lower and higher environments, job scheduling/rescheduling, batch monitoring, usage tracking etc.
    • Strong in supporting report execution-monitoring: BO, Power BI
    • SLA monitoring and Severity & Priority issues tracking
    • Organizing red team calls, focus group sessions involving cross-functional teams and drive resolution.
    • Comfortable working with production support rotational shifts
    • Good understanding of tech stack, ETL & ELT, DW BI, Power BI, Cloud Platforms, specifically AWS, and components EMR, S3, SQS, Step function Lambda, Scala.

 

Good to have skills:

  • Working knowledge of the SDLC and Agile Methodologies (Scrum/Jira).
  • Should be able to work closely within an onshore and offshore model.
  • Good understanding of Modern Data architectures – Big Data Platform, Lakehouse architecture, Medallion architecture
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to work in multi-vendor, cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Provide Weekly status report for BI Data Ops/BI Support with key KPI’s and AWS cost monitoring
  • Ability to learn new ETL tools and implement/enhance data pipelines.

 

 

Experience of unit tests, integration tests, system tests and acceptance tests.
