Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, govern, and enhance the CMDB ensuring CI accuracy, relationships, and lifecycle state integrity.
  • Define and enforce CMDB data quality rules: completeness, correctness, compliance, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with ITSM teams (Incident, Problem, Change, Release) to ensure CIs are used consistently and meaningfully.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards/reports to monitor CI usage trends, data quality, and service dependencies.
  • Analyse CMDB data to assess service impact, root cause trends, and areas for operational improvement.
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to support data-driven decisions using CMDB insights.
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives to increase CMDB maturity aligned with CSDM/ITIL best practices.
  • Participate in audits, governance reviews, and risk assessments related to asset/configuration data.
  • Implement and manage automated discovery tools and integrations to populate and update CI data.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of hands-on experience in CMDB/Configuration Management within ITSM environment.
  • Proficient with CMDB platforms like ServiceNow CMDB, BMC Atrium, or similar tools.
  • Experience with ITSM process integration, especially Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and analytics tools: ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Power BI, or similar.
  • Ability to define KPIs, trends, and actionable insights from CI usage across ITSM workflows.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, dashboard creation, and decision support reporting.
  • Experience aligning CMDB with frameworks like CSDM (Common Service Data Model).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification (preferably Intermediate in SACM or CSI).
  • ServiceNow System Administrator or CMDB Specialist certification.
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, or Python) for reporting or automation tasks.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and how hybrid environments affect CI modeling and reporting.
