Job Description: 

Mainframe Test Lead

Job Description :

1) Mainframe Functional & Batch Testing

  • Design, execute, and maintain test cases for mainframe‑based credit card applications.
  • Perform batch job validation, including:
    • Job execution verification
    • Restart and recovery validation
    • GDG and VSAM file validation
  • Validate end‑to‑end batch cycles (daily / monthly / billing cycles) for card processing.

2) Online (CICS) & Transaction Testing

  • Test CICS online screens and transactions supporting card servicing and processing.
  • Validate:
    • Transaction responses
    • Error handling and message flows
    • Data consistency between online and batch systems

3) Data Validation & Backend Testing

  • Validate DB2 data for accuracy across:
    • Accounts
    • Transactions
    • Billing, interest, fees, and payments
  • Perform VSAM file validation (KSDS/ESDS) and reconciliation checks.
  • Use SPUFI / SQL / ISPF for backend data verification.

4) Credit Card Domain Validation

  • Validate credit card lifecycle scenarios, including:
    • Card origination and account setup
    • Authorization and posting
    • Billing cycles, statements, and payments
    • Disputes and chargebacks
  • Support scheme‑mandated and regulatory change testing for card platforms.

5) Defect Management & Test Governance

  • Log, track, and retest defects using standard defect management tools. 
  • Participate in defect triage and RCA discussions with development teams.

Prepare test execution reports, metrics, and closure summaries.
Mandatory Skills: Mainframe Testing .

 

Experience: 5-8 Years .
