Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Consultant L2 specializing in SAP HCM Payroll for Canada to join our dynamic team at Wipro Technologies in the Technology Services division. This role is crucial in delivering successful implementations of SAP HCM Payroll solutions tailored to our clients’ unique business requirements. As a key contributor, you will partner with customers and cross-functional teams to provide expert guidance, functional expertise, and hands-on leadership during all phases of the implementation lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Canadian payroll processes, proven experience in SAP HCM Payroll module deployments, and the ability to translate complex business needs into innovative, compliant, and efficient system configurations. Your role includes analyzing client specifications, designing solutions adhering to best practices, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring junior consultants to ensure quality delivery and customer satisfaction. This position requires strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision.

You will operate in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, leveraging your proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools to maintain clear documentation, track project progress, and facilitate knowledge transfer through training and presentations. Core Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end SAP HCM Payroll implementations for Canadian clients ensuring alignment with their business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Gather detailed business requirements and perform thorough gap analysis to tailor system configurations that adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards.
  • Create and deliver engaging, technically sound product demonstrations and training sessions customized to client needs.
  • Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, address, and resolve functional and technical system issues efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including status reports, time and expense tracking, and project deliverables to ensure transparency and project control.
  • Act as a mentor to junior consultants, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and performance feedback to foster skill development and project success.
  • Continuously update professional certifications and stay informed on the latest SAP technology trends, especially within the HCM Payroll domain, to drive innovative solutions.
  • Travel periodically to client locations to support on-site activities, strengthening client relationships and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Adopt and promote a culture of learning agility, problem-solving, and execution excellence within project teams.

Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in SAP HCM Payroll implementation, with at least 5 years focused on Canadian payroll regulations and processes.
  • Demonstrated success in functional or technical consulting roles related to SAP HCM Payroll modules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
  • Possession of a current professional certification in SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll or equivalent SAP HCM Payroll credentials is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements in Canada, ensuring implementations meet all statutory mandates.
  • Experience collaborating with multinational clients and working within cross-cultural, multinational project teams.
  • Strong track record of effectively managing multiple concurrent projects with high attention to detail and adherence to project timelines.

  • Advanced understanding of payroll and related business processes specific to Canada.
  • Expertise with SAP SuccessFactors and SAP HCM Payroll technologies, including system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for reporting and presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide detailed insight and develop pragmatic solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities enabling clear and effective client interactions and documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to lead project teams and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Effective leadership qualities, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members toward shared objectives.

  • This role operates within a professional office or remote work setting, leveraging digital collaboration tools to maintain connectivity and productivity.
