QA Engineer + Java (SDET)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer / SDET with strong hands-on experience in Core Java, REST API automation and Web UI automation.

This is a hands-on automation role. Strong Core Java programming experience is mandatory. Candidates must be able to write, review, debug and maintain Java-based automation code and frameworks. Profiles primarily focused on JavaScript, TypeScript or Python will only be considered if they also have strong practical Java experience.

  • Experience using AI tools for testing or engineering productivity

Core Java Requirement

Candidates must have practical experience with:

  • Object-Oriented Programming
  • Collections and data handling
  • Exception handling
  • Reusable automation components
  • Debugging Java code
  • Developing and maintaining automation frameworks
  • Java-based API and/or UI automation

Core Java is a critical selection criterion. Basic Java exposure or experience only executing existing automation scripts will not be sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain automated tests for REST APIs and web applications.
  • Write clean, scalable and reusable automation code using Core Java.
  • Build and enhance Java-based automation frameworks.
  • Develop API test suites covering functional, integration and security requirements.
  • Create and maintain UI automation for regression, functional and end-to-end testing.
  • Validate backend data and application behavior using SQL.
  • Execute automated tests and troubleshoot issues in Linux environments.
  • Perform code coverage analysis and identify automation gaps.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to improve test design, automation development and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze test results, report defects and support root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and release validation.
  • Contribute to CI/CD and continuous testing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant QA Automation or SDET experience.
  • Strong hands-on Core Java programming skills.
  • Experience developing Java-based automation frameworks.
  • Strong REST API automation experience.
  • Experience with REST Assured, Postman or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with Selenium, Playwright or similar Web UI automation tools.
  • Hands-on SQL and database validation experience.
  • Working knowledge of Linux.
  • Familiarity with code coverage tools and quality engineering practices.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or similar AI tools.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
  • CI/CD and continuous testing
  • JIRA, TestRail or Zephyr
  • AWS or Azure
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • Performance testing exposure

Important: Strong Core Java experience is mandatory and will be evaluated during the technical interview.
