Role and responsibilities
· Create and maintain technical documentation
· Support technical teams by providing basic information or coordinating with SMEs when required.
· Ensure timely communication during incidents and escalate issues promptly to senior team members or leads.
· Execute Service Requests by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately.
· Coordinate with stakeholders for scheduling changes as per instructions from senior staff
· Respond to service incidents and queries within agreed timelines, escalating complex issues as needed
· Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents by providing relevant data and observations
· Adhere to quality and security processes defined for the engagement.
· Apply OS patches and basic hardening steps as per security guidelines provided by senior engineers.
· Support software installation and updates following documented procedures.
· Provide inputs for weekly and monthly status reports as requested by leads.
· Participate in service improvement initiatives by implementing simple tasks assigned by senior staff.
· Assist in onboarding and training new team members by sharing basic processes and documentation.
Skills and requirements
Primary Skill: JBoss Secondary Skill: Tomcat, Apache HTTP, IIS Expertise in JBoss Administration
· Basic support experience with Application Servers and Java/J2EE applications across production and test environments.
· Familiarity with JBoss configuration tasks, such as setting up data sources, listener ports, and basic Java connection artifacts under guidance.
· Basic understanding of Apache Web Server administration, including starting/stopping services and reviewing configuration files.
· Exposure to installation and initial configuration of JBoss, Tomcat, and IIS under supervision.
· Experience integrating JBoss with web servers (Apache) and databases (Oracle, MySQL)
· Basic scripting knowledge in Shell or Python for simple tasks like clearing logs and restarting services.
· Exposure to IIS administration, including creating websites and application pools under guidance
· Basic knowledge of IIS security concepts, such as generating CSR and installing SSL certificates with assistance.
· Comfortable navigating IIS Manager for basic tasks like creating virtual directories and checking bindings.
· Familiarity with Linux/UNIX/Windows environments for basic operational tasks.
· Exposure to patching and upgrading Apache Tomcat deployments in test environments.
· Experience managing Middleware related monitoring tools, including, New Relic, Wily and DT,Splunk
· Basic awareness of Middleware security practices
· Experience installing, configuring, performance tuning and troubleshooting Middleware software is highly desirable. Additional knowledge in other domains such as Storage, Backup, Database and network.
· Understanding & adherence to ITIL processes
· Exposure in ITSM Ticketing and Monitoring tools
· ITIL certification ( nice to have)
