CICS Mainframes Admin

CICS Administrator (CICS System Programmer):

•            6+ years of experience as a CICS Administrator/System Programmer with experience in managing CICS regions across multiple Systems/LPARs.

•            Knowledge of all CICS parameters that control performance in a CICSPlex environment.

•            Knowledge of CICS SMF record structure and the CICS Performance Analyzer tool to gather statistics necessary to tune CICS regions.

•            Experience with CICSPlex SM implementation & customization, dynamic transaction routing, etc.

•            Exposure to installation, upgrade, and maintenance of CICS and related products.

•            Set up and maintain CICS regions & analyzing CICS system logs.

•            Defining/Maintaining CICS system tables.

•            Assembler and COBOL coding and knowledge of CICS Exits

•            Web application support in a CICS TS V5 environment

•            Using traces in problem determination and formatting and interpreting trace entries.

•            Ability to perform problem determination, dump analysis and performance tuning on CICS regions.

•            Should have a sound understanding and working knowledge of z/OS, TSO, ISPF, SMP/E, DB2, JCL and basic COBOL scripting.

•            Understanding of zOS facilities such as: APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, Coupling Facility

•            Having a knowledge in Mainframe MQ Administration is a plus.

•            Working knowledge of the zOS & CICS Explorer

•            Good understanding of ITIL modules like Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management
