Location: Chennai

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced LibreNMS L3 Administrator to lead the architecture, administration, and optimization of our network monitoring platform. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and accuracy of monitoring for large-scale enterprise networks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SNMP-based monitoring, alerting frameworks, distributed pollers, and integrations with ITSM and collaboration tools.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, and maintain LibreNMS in large-scale enterprise environments.
Manage core components: PHP/Laravel app, MySQL/MariaDB, RRDTool/RRDCached, fping, and web servers (Nginx/Apache).
Implement and optimize distributed pollers, polling intervals, and platform performance.
Administer SNMPv2/v3, MIB management, device onboarding, custom OS/device definitions, and discovery automation.
Design and maintain alert rules, templates, escalation policies, maintenance windows, and noise reduction strategies.
Configure and support Syslog, SNMP traps, and Oxidized for configuration backups.
Integrate LibreNMS with ServiceNow/Jira, Microsoft Teams/Slack, and other alert transports.
Ensure platform security, including RBAC, LDAP/AD/SAML integrations, TLS, and device credential hygiene.
Create dashboards, availability maps, reports, business service views, and capacity trends.
Automate operational tasks using Python/Bash and LibreNMS APIs.
Provide L3-level incident support, root cause analysis, and guidance to L1/L2 teams.
Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and best practices.



Required Skills & Experience

6–10 years in network monitoring/observability; minimum 3 years with LibreNMS.
Strong understanding of SNMPv2/v3, MIBs, OIDs, and network device telemetry.
Hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration.
Proficiency with MariaDB/MySQL, query tuning, indexing, and backups.
Expertise with RRDTool, dispatcher services, fping, and poller performance tuning.
Experience with Oxidized, SNMP traps, Syslog pipelines.
Strong knowledge of alert design, escalation policies, and noise reduction.



Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, and HA architectures.
