Mainframe Developer

Experience- 4.8 years to 8 years

Location- Chennai

ONLY Immediate joiners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-to-end production support for mainframe applications, including incident resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor batch jobs and online systems; ensure timely resolution of failures and issues.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
  • Perform impact analysis, code fixes, and enhancements based on business requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (business, QA, infrastructure) for smooth delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA timelines and quality standards in production support.
  • Participate in on-call support/rotational shifts as required.
  • Perform data analysis and debugging using DB2 queries and file structures like VSAM.
  • Maintain proper documentation for fixes, enhancements, and known issues. 

Required Skills:

    • Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS.
    • Good understanding of mainframe architecture and batch/online processing.
    • Experience in production support environment, including incident management and problem resolution.
    • Proficiency in debugging and performance tuning.
    • Exposure to job scheduling tools (like ESP or UAC) is preferred.
    • Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management).
