Role Purpose


The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations

Role: Cloud Storage Engineer

Tech Stack: Azure and Google Cloud

Location: PAN India

Responsibilities

➤ Contribute towards the evaluation and proof of concepts for new cloud storage products and technologies.
➤ Design and build enterprise-class cloud storage solutions across Azure and GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and cost optimisation.
➤ Develop and maintain DevOps CI/CD pipelines for storage deployments and automation.
➤ Build automation for re-certification, upgrades, evergreen processes, and production support functions; integrate APIs between systems and validate interoperability.
➤ Document engineering standards, best practices, and SOPs for production build and support teams to enable rapid global adoption.
➤ Test, certify, and validate cloud storage products and services; ensure smooth handover to production build, deployment, and support teams with comprehensive documentation.
➤ Manage risks and ensure adherence to organisational security policies and regulatory standards.
➤ Implement Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) for storage services.
➤ Provide Level 2/3 production support for storage environments; coordinate problem resolution across functional areas and act as SME for diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
➤ Analyse storage system behaviour and baselines, resolve complex I/O problems, and recommend optimal storage layouts based on data usage and criticality.
➤ Lead migration projects from on-premises to cloud storage platforms and implement backup, disaster recovery, and archival strategies aligned with compliance requirements.
➤ Monitor and optimise storage performance and capacity utilisation.
➤ Manage incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive measures.
➤ Maintain inventory of storage resources and ensure timely refresh/upgrades.
➤ Provide technical support for storage-related issues across environments.

Qualifications

➤ University-level degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience, including 8+ years in storage engineering and 3+ years in cloud storage.
➤ Demonstrable expertise in cloud storage platforms: Azure Blob/Files, GCP Cloud Storage, and hybrid storage architectures (SAN/NAS).
➤ Experience with enterprise storage technologies such as Dell EMC VNX, NetApp CVO..
➤ Strong knowledge of automation tools and scripting: Terraform, Ansible, Python, and API integration.
➤ Familiarity with security practices: IAM, encryption, key management, compliance frameworks, and CSPM for cloud storage.
➤ Proven experience in large-scale migrations, BAU support, and performance tuning for storage systems.
➤ Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
➤ Ability to work under pressure, collaborate across time zones, and maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

Certifications (Preferred)

➤ Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
➤ Google Professional Cloud Architect or Storage Engineer.
