Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to handle escalated alerts, investigate incidents and perform vulnerability scans to ensure compliance with organizational standards and reduce security risks.

Areas of responsibility

Monitoring and Incident Detection-Handle escalated alerts, prevent potential intrusions from third party agents and analyse log correlation to ensure alignment with security standards.

Incident Handling and Analysis-Triage security incidents, handle escalated incidents, assist in performing root cause analysis and prepare reports that adhere to compliance requirements.

Threat Assessment and Analytics-"Perform vulnerability scans, identify threat intelligence feeds, and recommend preventive measures to reduce exposure."

Stakeholder Coordination and Audit Assistance-Coordinate with internal teams on security issues, maintain risk registers and assist during compliance audits.

JD - Scope of work for Firewall Management

The resident engineer has to perform the below mentioned (but not limited to) duties

pertaining to Firewall Solution (External and Internal):

a. Onsite resources has to document on day today basis for all changes made to firewalls.

There should be a predefined process of Change Request (CR) for making any critical

changes to the Firewall. Changes to be done post approval.

b. Overall management and monitoring of the solution, including the H/W, S/W and

application health and utilisations.

c. Addition/ Deletion/ Modifications in configuration/ rule sets/ user policies as per bank’s

requirement.

d. Applying regular updates/ upgrades/ patches/ fixes etc.

e. Keep back up of log, configuration, data etc.

f. Prepare and submit regular reports as required by the bank.

g. Call log, follow up and escalation for resolution of all types of h/w or application issue for

the solution.

h. Promptly alert bank’s team in case of any discrepancy observed or any security threat

and initiate necessary action in coordination with security vendors of the bank.
