BMC Helix ITSM, CMDB and Smart IT PWA |
- Advanced Incident & Problem Management (L3): Debug complex issues (data corruption, performance degradation, failed reconciliation jobs, integration failures), deliver RCA and permanent fixes.
- Upgrade & Patch Leadership: Plan and execute Helix upgrades/patches, including regression strategy, rollback planning, and production readiness validation.
- CMDB Architecture & Governance: Define CMDB governance standards (data model customization approach, dataset strategy, reconciliation/normalization rules, CI lifecycle controls).
- Complex Catalog/Workflow Engineering: Build/optimize service catalog and workflows for new services, including approvals, automation steps, and service reliability considerations.
- Integrations: Design/support integrations (Helix Digital Workplace APIs, identity/SSO, CMDB feeds, ITOM/monitoring hooks) and coordinate cross-team changes.
- Mentoring & Standards: Coach L1/L2 teams, enforce runbooks/KB standards, and drive operational excellence improvements.

BMC Helix CMDB: Architecture, Governance, Reconciliation, and Normalization. Define and maintain CMDB governance standards, including approaches to data model customization, dataset strategies, reconciliation and normalization rules, and CI lifecycle controls. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of Configuration Item (CI) data by designing robust reconciliation processes and normalization routines. Lead CMDB engineering efforts to align with enterprise best practices, supporting reliable service delivery and effective incident response.

Digital Workplace Service Catalogue: Workflow and Catalog Engineering, Automation: Build and optimize service catalog entries and workflows within the Digital Workplace Service Catalogue. Develop automated approval processes, implement workflow steps that support service reliability, and ensure catalog items are aligned with business needs. Integrate REST/API concepts and support seamless connections to other platforms, such as identity management and monitoring systems.

Smart IT: Experience on Progressive Web Apps to deliver responsive, mobile‑friendly service management, enabling agents to resolve tickets quickly with real‑time insights and streamlined workflows.

1. Provide tool design, development and deployment support for the project delivery
a. Interact with the internal project or client to understand the project requirement from a tool perspective
b. Design the solution keeping in mind the tool requirements, current tools available as well as details on licenses required etc.
c. Provide budget and timeline estimates for the tool development/ deployment as required
d. For any new tool development, identify sources for development (internal or 3rd party) and work with the project managers on the development of the tool keeping in mind the production rollout timelines
e. Conduct commercial discussions with the 3rd party vendors for licenses or tool development
f. Conduct appropriate testing to ensure error free deployment of the tool on the project
g. Ensure deployment of tool on time and within the estimated budget
