Exp- 4- 7 yrs

Location- Hyderabad

Primary Skill: Brocade Fiber Channel switching - L3

Secondary Skill: Storage Administrator - L3 (Pure, IBM, NetApp, EMC/PowerMax, Isilon)

Strong experience with Brocade Fibre Channel switching

Good understanding of SAN architecture: Dual fabric, core-edge topologies, VSAN equivalent concepts, ISL design

Hands experience with SAN migration methodologies: Parallel fabric build, phased cutovers, non-disruptive path migrations

Storage and host connectivity knowledge: Brocade + arrays (EMC/PowerMax, Isilon, NetApp, IBM, Pure, etc.), Multipathing (VMware, Linux DM-Multipath, Windows MPIO)

Perform end-to-end Brocade SAN switch migration activities (core/edge, single fabric or dual fabric), including hardware refresh and/or fabric consolidation.

Working experience to conduct discovery and assessment: Collect switch configs, zoning DB, aliases, WWNs, FLOGI database, name server details

Create detailed migration runbooks, MOPs, rollback plans, and risk mitigation steps.

Execute zoning and fabric services migration: Validate zone naming standards, cleanup stale zones/aliases, replicate zoning to new fabric (peer zoning if used)

Configure and validate the ISLs, Trunks, port-channels, speed/credit, buffer-to-buffer credits, long-distance settings, NPIV, F-port / E-port settings, switch domain IDs, fabric parameters

Perform cutover of host and storage connectivity: Coordinate with OS teams for multipath checks (PowerPath/Native MPIO), HBA driver/firmware, Validate host paths, failover, and application I/O health

Manage firmware upgrades, switch configuration backup/restore, and security hardening (SSH, SNMP, RBAC).

Troubleshoot SAN issues during/after migration:

  • Analyze RSCN, port errors, CRC, link flaps, SFP issues
  • Investigate login issues (FLOGI/PLOGI/PRLI), fabric segmentation

As-built diagrams, port maps, WWN/alias inventories, zoning matrices
