JOB DESCRIPTION

Observability Engineer

Overview:
We are seeking an Observability Engineer to join our team and drive the implementation, management, and optimization of our monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern observability tools and a strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud environments, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using tools such as Datadog, Splunk, ELK/Elastic Stack, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Develop and optimize dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide actionable insights into system health and performance.
  • Aggregate, parse, and analyze logs and metrics from various sources.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and support teams to define monitoring requirements and improve system reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in observability and monitoring.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with one or more observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their monitoring services.
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL processes.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Automate observability processes and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
