Mainframe Technical Lead

Role Summary

We are seeking a Mainframe Developer / Technical Lead with strong hands-on development experience in a mainframe environment. The candidate should be capable of working in onshore–offshore delivery models and must be purely from a development background (testing/support-only experience will not be considered).

Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad , Pune

Experience

  • 6+ years of core Mainframe application development experience

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • COBOL (L3) – Advanced
  • DB2 – z/OS Application Programming (L3)
  • JCL (L3)
  • VSAM

Good to Have

  • CICS – basic to intermediate knowledge
  • Mainframe Conversion / Modernization experience
  • IBM IDz, z/OS Connect, Automation tools
  • Card / Banking Domain experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements analysis, development, unit testing, and support system testing
  • Own the functional and technical track of assigned modules/projects
  • Act as an entry-level technical specialist with depth in mainframe technologies
  • Provide technical support to Product Owner (PO) / Scrum Master (SM) for:
    • Story prioritization
    • Work breakdown and estimation
  • Participate actively in Agile / Scrum ceremonies
  • Collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams

Methodologies & Soft Skills

  • Strong Agile / Scrum mindset
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
Mandatory Skills: Application Modernization - Mainframe .

 

Experience: 5-8 Years .
