System Design & Test Engineer
As a system design & test engineer, you will be responsible for designing hardware to validate board level system functionality and electrical performance of new products. This position is a great fit for someone who is passionate about designing hardware, and working cross-functionally with teams across (design, firmware, software, operations, etc).
Key Responsibilities
- Test fixture hardware design and integration with test instruments, implementation of product testing on new products from prototype to mass production
- Work closely with the system design and diagnostics teams early in the product development lifecycle to learn the system architecture and provide suggested test for functionality and performance
- Be the technical expert for designing, understanding, presenting, communicating and debugging, the system testing and testing processes of product
- Act as a key liaison between our organization and the Contract Manufacturers to ensure that our test station hardware and software is validated and ready for manufacturing testing
- Documentation of tests and developing/executing product test plans, specifying test stations and diagnostics for testing product features, and implementing test process control and parametric data collection.
Key Qualifications
- B.S. EE (or similar) with 3+ years of experience
- Good understanding analog, digital, and power electronics hardware architectures and design
- Experience in schematic & PCB layout design using Allegro or a similar CAD tool
- Ability to design and debug complex electrical schematics and PCB layouts and propose clear, relevant experiments
- Working knowledge of USB 3.2, USB-PD, Display Port, PCIe, I2C, SPI technologies and protocols, and design
- Good oral & written communication skills - be able to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and concisely to various cross functional teams and leadership.
- Nice to have - Prior experience with bed of nails test fixture and designing custom test instruments
- Prior experience of performing parametric data statistical analysis (CPK, GRR etc)
- Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally up-to 20% of the time; estimated 8-10 days per trip
- Prior technical leadership and/or project management experience
- Prior experience of performing parametric data statistical analysis (CPK, GRR etc)
Experience: 5-8 Years .
Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
