Job Description

Role: Data & AI Strategic Advisory Senior Consultant
Location: Charlotte, NC

Role Overview
Advise enterprise clients on data-led and AI-enabled transformation, with emphasis on manufacturing and industrial domains. Blend strategic advisory with hands-on consulting to define data strategy, perform maturity assessments, establish governance foundations, and convert AI opportunities into execution-ready roadmaps. Work closely with client leaders, Wipro delivery teams, and practice teams to ensure recommendations are practical, scalable, and implementable.

Key Responsibilities
•    Data strategy & transformation: Shape AI-enabled data strategies aligned to business outcomes; translate priorities into data/AI problem statements; develop phased roadmaps balancing near-term value and long-term capability maturity; partner with architecture/delivery to carry intent into implementation.
•    Maturity assessment & current state: Lead assessments across platforms/architecture, governance (quality, security, metadata), analytics/AI readiness, and operating model; run interviews/workshops; synthesize executive-ready insights, risks, dependencies, and prioritized improvements.
•    Governance foundation: Design fit-for-purpose governance for complex manufacturing environments (ownership/stewardship, data quality & MDM principles, metadata/lineage, access controls); keep guidance use-case driven, scalable, and not purely compliance-oriented.
•    Manufacturing domain advisory: Tie initiatives to value drivers (productivity, yield, reliability, cost, resilience); account for IT/OT integration, legacy landscapes, and operational constraints.
•    Client engagement: Serve as trusted advisor to Director/VP+ stakeholders; facilitate discovery, assessment, and roadmap reviews; produce high-quality deliverables (assessment reports, strategy decks, maturity matrices, gap analyses, roadmaps); support proposals/RFP shaping with sales and delivery teams.
•    Collaboration & capability building: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and AI specialists to ensure feasibility; contribute to consulting assets/accelerators/frameworks; mentor junior consultants and analysts.

Core Skills & Qualifications
•    ~10 years in data technology consulting, enterprise data programs, or analytics advisory.
•    Hands-on experience with data strategy and roadmap development, maturity/capability assessments, and data governance design/implementation.
•    Demonstrated experience with manufacturing or industrial enterprise clients.
•    Strong understanding of modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks; cloud data lakes/warehouses) and how they enable analytics/AI.
•    Ability to bridge business objectives and technical execution; strong written/verbal communication and executive-level deliverables.

Preferred / Good to Have
•    Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI initiatives in the context of data platforms (not necessarily deep model development).
•    Familiarity with frameworks (e.g., DAMA, TOGAF, data maturity models) and pragmatic application in client contexts.
•    Experience supporting RFPs, proposals, or pre-sales advisory engagements.
