Job Description
Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to provide effective technical support to the process and actively resolve client issues directly or through timely escalation to meet process SLAs.
͏
The firm is an alternative asset manager focused on private credit, including direct lending, broadly syndicated and middle-market term loans, private placements, structured credit, opportunistic and special situations exposures. These investments are held across drawdown funds, evergreen vehicles, separately managed accounts, CLOs and rated feeder structures.
In this environment, data is core infrastructure. Every valuation, capital call, credit facility borrowing base, investor report, rating agency submission and regulatory filing depends on accurate security, fund, counterparty and pricing records.
This role sits at the front line of that infrastructure. The Data Operations Analyst / Senior Analyst will own golden-source master data domains — including Security Master, Fund Master, Counterparty Master and Pricing Master — and operate them in close partnership with New York investment, trading and operations teams. The role requires managing a live operational function that opens the book each morning, absorbs intraday activity, resolves exceptions and closes the day cleanly before New York end-of-day.
͏
Key Responsibilities
Master Data Ownership
- Act as the golden-source owner for Security, Fund, Counterparty and Pricing master data across the private credit platform, ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness and consistency for all downstream consumers.
- Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, mandatory attribute sets and validation rules for each master data domain.
- Maintain issuer and borrower corporate hierarchies, including relationships across legal entities, obligors, guarantors and ultimate parent entities, supported by research through public registries, filings and rating agency sources.
Data Quality and Controls
- Design, run and continuously improve automated data quality checks, exception reports and tolerance-based alerting.
- Operate within a “no surprises, no silent errors” control framework, ensuring every exception is logged, owned, aged and resolved to root cause.
- Maintain maker-checker discipline, audit trails and supporting evidence sufficient for internal audit, external audit, SOC controls and regulatory review.
Operational Partnership
- Serve as the Brazil-based partner to New York Trade Support, Middle Office, Portfolio Finance, Valuations, Treasury, Legal, Compliance and Investment teams.
- Work directly with agent banks, custodians, fund administrators and data vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Escalate issues clearly, early and with context, including risk impact and proposed resolution.
͏
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience for Analyst level or 6+ years of experience for Senior Analyst level in investment operations, reference or master data management, middle office, back office, fund administration, loan operations or data governance at an asset manager, bank, administrator or financial data provider.
- Working knowledge of at least one core asset class in scope, with corporate loans or term loans strongly preferred; experience with bonds, structured products, equities or OTC derivatives is also relevant.
- Understanding of the instrument lifecycle, including setup, corporate actions, income and accruals, amendments, settlement and maturity or exit.
- Strong Excel skills, including demonstrated ability to work with large data sets, reconcile across sources and investigate discrepancies independently.
- Comfort operating on the New York clock, including end-of-day and month-end peak periods.
͏
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with BlackRock Aladdin, WSO / Wall Street Office, Geneva, SimCorp or similar investment and loan platforms.
- Experience with market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Markit / IHS, Refinitiv Eikon / LSEG, ICE, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook or LSTA / LPC.
- SQL experience for querying and validation; Python or VBA for automation; and Power BI or Tableau for dashboards and management information reporting.
- Familiarity with private credit operations, including LSTA documentation, agent bank notices, credit agreements and amendment mechanics, unfunded commitment tracking, PIK accounting, CLO structures and trustee reporting.
- Exposure to identifier and classification standards such as CUSIP, ISIN, LEI, LX / LIN, GICS and NAICS, as well as ratings agency methodologies from Moody’s, S&P, Fitch or KBRA as applied to leveraged loans.
