Job Title: Data Scientist

 

Job Summary: The Data Scientist III manages a portfolio for Business Insights & Reporting and works closely with various internal stakeholders/partners to understand business objectives, identify data and analytical insight needs, opportunities for improvement and help inform and support business decisions and strategies.

Provides technical leadership across the overall Analytics function, along with consultative support, business insight, advice and expertise to guide decision making and/or strategic planning by leveraging and interpreting data and analytical models to provide business specific or broad strategic insight and using a variety of audience-specific communication techniques.

 

Job Description:

Depth & Scope:

•              Develop analytic solutions to support insight generation for a variety of use cases that drive value for the bank

•              Provides consultative advice to guide analytics developments through regular communication with business partners/stakeholders that define business requirements and data solutions

•              Work closely with business owners to identify opportunities. Be familiar with the business context and data infrastructure and can translate business problems to viable data science solutions

•              Work with stakeholders to develop new business or operational strategies based on analysis and insights, and apply analytical thought leadership

•              Serve as an authority on a given business domain and provide business expertise to place context around analytics discovery

•              Collaborate with business partners to shape and prioritize ad hoc analysis and reporting

•              Educate business partners and build awareness on how to interpret the data and analytics to drive decision making that will move the business forward

•              Perform analysis, translating data into information, and answering business questions (hypotheses, testing, data gathering, analysis, story building, and communication to stakeholders)

•              Interpret analytic outputs and data by using relevant and consumable visualization reports and dashboards

•              Undertake and complete a variety of complex initiatives

•              Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program, and project managers

•              Provides leadership by setting goals, developing others, and lead by example to promote teamwork; focus on longer-range planning for functional area

 

Experience:

•              Undergraduate degree or technical certificate

•              7 + years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background, digital channel experience preferred

•              Strong data visualization and presentation skills using PowerPoint to effectively communicate insights and recommendations

•              Advanced knowledge of programming languages (i.e Python, R or SQL)

•              Intermediate knowledge of Web Analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics

•              Experience with distributed data/computing tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Databricks

•              Strong analytical and program solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions

•              Excellent written and verbal communications skills

•              Proven ability to coach and mentor peers in professional manner

•              Prior leadership experience or progressively responsible Department/Bank experience

•              Ability to provide conflict resolution

•              Strong ability to successfully balance competing priorities in a fast paced environment 

Mandatory Skills: DataBricks - Data Engineering .

 

Experience: 5-8 Years .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from CAD 77000 to CAD 120000 .
