Job Title: Product Engineer
Location: Dearborn, MI
Salary $80-100K

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Product Design Engineer to spearhead the design, development. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in vehicle fixture development / mounts design / understand seat structures / develop kinematic mechanisms, along with cost-optimization strategies. The ideal candidate also will be responsible for taking complex mechanical designs suitable to robotics ensuring all designs meet stringent safety, manufacturing, and customer requirements. This role requires a "subject matter expert" who can bridge the gap between innovative R&D and robust mechanical fixtures/mechatronics design.

Design & Development: Lead the end-to-end design engineering using Catia V5.
Innovation & IP: Drive the development of new intellectual property, focusing on designing support fixtures such as automatic railing system suitable to robotic system as base.
Validation & Quality: Own the DFMEA process. Collaborate with FEA and testing teams to ensure products meet customer-specific durability standards.
Supplier & Customer Interface: Act as the primary technical point of contact for fixture supporting.
Manufacturing Integration: Work closely with plants and AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and assembly feasibility.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech/B.S.) from a top-tier institution (IIT or equivalent preferred).
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in automotive seating systems, specifically focusing on metal structures and mechanisms.
Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Catia V5 (Solid/Surface modeling) and ADAMS dynamics simulation.
Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities (root cause analysis), strong leadership skills for mentoring junior engineers, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global team environment.

Mandatory Skills: Automotive Model Based Design .

 

Experience: 5-8 Years .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
