Principal DevOps Consultant
Principal DevOps Consultant is a senior-level expert who designs, implements, and advises on DevOps strategies to improve a company's software development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure. They bridge the gap between development and operations by automating processes, building CI/CD pipelines, and promoting a culture of collaboration and reliability. Key responsibilities include architecting scalable cloud solutions, mentoring other team members, and using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Key responsibilities
- Technical leadership: Oversee the design, creation, and adoption of DevOps practices and capabilities across the organization.
- Automation and CI/CD: Design and implement automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code to ensure fast, reliable, and secure software delivery.
- Collaboration: Work with development and operations teams to define technical requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentorship: Train and mentor other team members in DevOps best practices and tools.
- Solution architecture: Architect and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions, often across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
Essential skills
- Cloud platforms: Expertise in major cloud providers like AWS, Azure.
- CI/CD tools: Deep knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Containerization and orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, AKS).
- Scripting and programming: Strong scripting skills and knowledge of programming languages relevant to DevOps tasks.
- Soft skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are crucial for bridging technical and business teams.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
