Senior Automation Engineer (Ansible & Python) - Backup Operations
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust automation solutions for our backup and recovery operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Ansible and Python, a strong background in IT infrastructure, and a proven track record of streamlining operational processes to improve efficiency and reliability across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include leading the design of automation frameworks with Ansible and Python for backup and recovery processes, developing and maintaining automation scripts and playbooks, and automating routine backup tasks such as scheduling and monitoring. The role also involves integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines and ITSM tools, troubleshooting scripts, promoting Infrastructure as Code for backup configurations, and ensuring automation complies with security and compliance requirements. Collaboration with other teams and providing technical guidance are also key aspects.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure automation or DevOps, with expert-level knowledge of Ansible and strong Python skills for automation. A solid understanding of Linux/Unix is required, with Windows automation and experience with enterprise backup solutions being beneficial. Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI, along with Git, is important. Experience automating tasks on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. The role demands exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

- Provide customer support/ service on the DevOps tools
- Timely support internal & external customers escalations on multiple platforms
- Troubleshoot the various problems that arise in implementation of DevOps tools across the project/ module
- Perform root cause analysis of major incidents/ critical issues which may hamper project timeliness, quality or cost
- Develop alternate plans/ solutions to be implemented as per root cause analysis of critical problems
- Follow escalation matrix/ process as soon as a resolution gets complicated or isnâÂÂt resolved
