Role Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking technologist who is passionate about working at the intersection of frontier technologies and business innovation. In this role, you will help shape the future of enterprise solutions by driving strategic co-innovation with global clients, exploring emerging technologies, and building differentiated points of view that influence Wipro’s innovation agenda.

As a Research & Innovation Director specializing in Embodied AI, you will combine deep technical expertise with business insight to identify opportunities where next-generation capabilities—such as advanced AI, robotics, quantum, blockchain, and cyber-physical systems—can solve high-value enterprise challenges

Key Responsibilities͏

Technology Strategy & Research

  • Identify opportunities to apply frontier technologies (Embodied AI, advanced AI, robotics, quantum computing, blockchain, etc.) to complex business and operational problems.
  • Drive strategic technology conversations with enterprise clients, translating early-stage research trends into actionable business opportunities.
  • Develop, publish, and present technical points-of-view (POVs) and research insights that shape Wipro’s perspectives on emerging technologies.

Innovation Consulting & Co-Creation

  • Lead innovation workshops, design-thinking sessions, and discovery engagements with clients to uncover use cases and define co-innovation pathways.
  • Translate customer challenges into actionable prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and pilot architectures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and business teams to validate new solutions and ensure technical feasibility and market relevance.

Thought Leadership & Evangelism

  • Create thought leadership assets including whitepapers, technical blogs, research studies, and internal/external presentations.
  • Represent Wipro in industry forums, conferences, and innovation ecosystems as an advocate for Embodied AI and frontier technologies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with technology partners, startups, research institutions, and academia to stay ahead of advancements.

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, AI, or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in technology consulting, applied research, innovation strategy, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology landscapes and digital/business transformation frameworks.
  • Proven experience in driving innovation initiatives, PoCs, or pilot programs.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business, technical, and leadership audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in client engagement, stakeholder management, and relationship building.

Preferred Qualifications͏

  • Hands-on experience with one or more frontier technology domains: Embodied AI, robotics, LLM-based agents, spatial computing, or cyber-physical systems.
  • Published research papers, patents, or technical articles in relevant fields.
  • Experience in technology evangelism, developer advocacy, or community leadership.
  • Background in enterprise architecture, solution consulting, or innovation program management.
  • Active participation in technology communities, standards bodies, or industry forums.
